Gage and Instrument Calibration Pricing

This is Walden Gage’s published calibration price list: 370 line items across dimensional, hard gage, hand tool, and mechanical equipment calibration. Prices are per item unless noted otherwise. Effective January 2025 and still in effect.

Most calibration providers make you call for a number. We publish ours so you can budget a recall cycle, compare against what you are paying now, and build a purchase order without waiting on a quote.

How this works

Walden Gage is a gage supply and calibration brokerage, not a calibration laboratory. We do not hold an ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. Calibration is performed by accredited partner laboratories, and your certificate comes from the lab that did the work, under that lab’s accreditation and scope.

What you get from us is a single point of contact: one purchase order, one contact, one invoice, across instrument types no single lab is scoped to cover. We handle routing, scheduling, recall dates, and certificate collection.

  • Turnaround: Three to five business days, standard.
  • Every price includes: the calibration certificate, full data, and as-found / as-left readings. No charge for certificates and no per-page data fees.
  • Accreditation: Every certificate is an accredited certificate. There is no cheaper non-accredited tier and no upcharge for accredited work — the price you see is the accredited price.
  • Minimum order: $50.00. Individual line items may carry their own minimums, noted in the tables below.
  • Shipping: Billed at time of invoice.
  • Items not listed: If your instrument is not on this list, send it anyway. Non-standard and built-to-print gaging is routine here.

Dimensional calibration

Dimensional calibration verifies, and where required adjusts, the accuracy of instruments that determine physical geometry: length, diameter, angle, flatness, thread pitch. The instrument is compared against traceable dimensional standards such as gage blocks, master rings and plugs, laser interferometers, or optical scales, under controlled environmental conditions. The certificate states the instrument’s error and the associated measurement uncertainty.

Hard gage calibration

Hard gage calibration covers fixed-limit or attribute gages: solid, non-adjustable reference artifacts such as plug, ring, thread, pin, and snap gages that give a GO / NO-GO decision rather than a numerical reading. This is the category most quality departments have the most of, and the one most often behind on its recall dates.

Hand tool calibration

Hand tool calibration covers portable, operator-held instruments that produce a quantitative reading: micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, bore gages, and similar. Calibration confirms the tool’s indications agree with traceable reference standards within a stated uncertainty, so measurements recorded on the shop floor are valid for product acceptance.

Common questions

Is Walden Gage an accredited calibration laboratory?

No. Walden Gage is a brokerage. We do not hold an ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and do not perform calibration in house. Work is performed by accredited partner laboratories, and the certificate you receive comes from the lab that performed it, under that lab’s accreditation and scope. If your quality system requires accreditation documentation for a specific instrument, we will tell you which lab is doing the work and provide that lab’s certificate and scope before you place the order.

Why use a broker instead of going straight to a lab?

Because no single accredited lab is scoped for everything in a typical gage crib. A quality department with a few hundred instruments usually ends up with four or five lab relationships, four or five sets of due dates, and no single view of what is current. We carry that coordination so your team does not have to.

Can you handle items that are not on this list?

Yes. The list covers common items at published prices. Obsolete, custom, and specialty instruments are quoted individually, and sourcing hard-to-find gaging is a large part of what we do.

Are the certificates accredited?

Yes. Every certificate we return is an accredited certificate, issued by the accredited laboratory that performed the work, under that lab’s scope. There is no non-accredited option and no surcharge for accreditation.

Do you handle repair as well as calibration?

Yes. Repair is available through the same partner network, along with new equipment sales.

How do I get started?

Send a list of what you have to Sales@waldengage.com, or call 631-729-6216. A spreadsheet export from your existing gage management system is fine.
